FALL 2016 Charcoal Drawing

September 5th, 2016

FALL 2016 Charcoal Drawing

September 14, 2016 is the day! Mark on your Calendar! We will be studying how to use the value scale to express depth through the medium of CHARCOAL. Building shadows becomes so easy with charcoal. All you need to a 9x12 newsprint pad; a chamois cloth, stumps and tortillions; soft, medium, hard Vine Charcoal; a board or hard cardboard larger than 9x12, thumb tacks, White pastel chalk; a drop cloth and wear clothing that you don't mind getting dirty.

This class is so very important to help those beginning the adventure of visual art as well as those who have a knowledge of the value chart or grayscale. If you want to paint more professionally, you need this class!
Hope to see you September 16, 2016!

December Reflections

December 1st, 2014

Here we are in December 2014 already. Where has the time gone. The year has flown by and I haven't created all the art I thought I would create. Usually I have at least one piece that I've worked on all year, but it seems like the ideas are still in my head. Tribe of the Lion, (The fledging school of Art community that I'm endeavoring to build) had a successful watercolor session last Summer and Fall. Many former students missed the acrylic class, so I decided to teach it for the Winter and Spring Sessions.

This Winter Session's focus will be "Reflections." After Thanksgiving I began reflecting on my life this past year with much gratitude, and decided that is where I want to live--reflecting gratitude to all whose path I encounter.

I'm in process of setting the days and will post when it's complete.
